First Presidency signs 2009 Christmas Message

Every year the First Presidency, including President Monson and his counselors, releases a Christmas message.  The Church News reports this year’s message:

Christmas is a glorious time, simple in origin and deep in meaning. It is rich in memories, charitable in spirit, and beautiful in tradition and custom. It has an attraction to which our hearts are readily drawn.

At this season of the year, we remember that our Heavenly Father gave us His Son, Jesus Christ. We also remember that His precious Son gave us His life, the Atonement, and victory over the grave.

Therefore, let us give to our Lord and Savior the gift of gratitude by living His teachings and following in His footsteps. During His mortal ministry, He “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38). As we do likewise, the Christmas spirit will fill our hearts.

Remember that the annual First Presidency Christmas Devotional will be broadcast tomorrow evening.

Oh The Christmas Spirit, I find, is felt the strongest when you just give a-little, even just your Time, to someone that needs it! I am known as a “Smiler” and a person that likes to give others “Smiles”, and I know that it was through Our Father In Heaven that gave me that, Because I’ve learned that the only True way to Feel Happiness is to help others feel it as well!!!
I had a Terrible incident where it should have Killed me, but through prayers and faith I am still alive, and I was even gifted with a Wonderful, Special Husband, and We were Then Given a Precious Baby Boy that we adore! My incident should have killed me, it didn’t. They said I would never walk, talk, or really be like a normal person, because of the Terrible Brain Injury. And it took faith and prayers and I’m a Very Normal individual. I am Living Proof that With God All Things Are Possible!
